Providence Health & Services Supervisor, Clinical Informatics - PSJH in Richland, Washington
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Supervisor Clinical Informatics PSJH to our location in Richland, WA.
We are seeking a Supervisor Clinical Informatics to possess a combination of technical, clinical and business skill sets. The Supervisor is accountable for the assessment, identification, consultation and coordination of enterprise wide needs as it pertains to Clinical Informatics functions. The supervisor is also accountable for coordinating the team and its support needs as it relates to business operations, as well as the utilization of clinical information systems. The supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day activities of his/her direct reports, and compliments the vision and direction in place by the department manager for extended support in the department’s optimization, operations and deployment pillars. Furthermore, this position is designed to participate in vision-casting, and the implementation of future team functions in an expanding and changing business environment.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Supervise projects with operational importance for the Clinical Informatics Team.
Participate in committees with cross-functional teams within Information Services and throughout the system.
Provide input to Manager on operational strategies for Information Services, including support, education, and communications.
Responsible for staff development and performance of Clinical Informatics staff.
Under direction of the Manager the Supervisor will assist with hiring, training, and developing staff to ensure the department has both the technical and organizational skills to effectively maintain operations and support as measured by meeting the established service levels.
Provide troubleshooting assistance to leads and non-leads when necessary.
Monitor work volumes and coordinate team.
Manage team schedule.
Provide input for employee performance appraisals.
Provide leadership in staff development and team building.
Lead team in development and maintenance of standards, procedures and performance requirements.
Ability to collect and process monthly audits and report findings to Manager.
Conduct and oversee evaluations and establish performance goals of the staff; resolves disciplinary problems, grievances, and other sensitive personnel matters.
Build and strengthen the team by understanding and supporting priorities for Information Services and operational business plans.
Supervise the team and provide the Manager with consultations regarding workplace challenges and challenging employee situations.
Partner with ministry leaders and acts as a liaison, problem solver, and facilitator for the impact that information systems have on the delivery of patient care and customer support.
Evaluate and recommend optimizations to processes; offer suggestions for new approaches to enhance customer and team satisfaction.
Audit and enforce adherence to standard processes.
Provide positive and supportive work environment and leadership using the goals and objectives of Information Services and Providence Saint Joseph Health
Support enhancing employees’ expertise to maintain/develop knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitudes which promote excellence and productive team-oriented performance.
Promote and encourage positive team problem solving to empower employees to act effectively to cause change.
Escalate critical issues, problems or delays in production, projects or any other issues that has an impact on the customer.
Partner with clinical informatics to facilitate education for clinicians on application features and procedures.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Management, Information Services, or a clinical discipline OR equivalent experience / education
Four (4) years of same or similar primary duties working with a clinical information systems within a healthcare setting
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Management, Information Services, or a clinical discipline.
One (1) years of experience in Leadership, Change Management, Project Management, Process Improvement.
